I learned this when my father-in-law passed unexpectedly at 54. Just months earlier, I’d convinced everyone to pause for family portraits on a beach vacation. When I got the call, those images became everything. Now, I can still see the warmth of his familiar smile—a reminder of how powerful a photograph can be.
